Join us in the Motor City for the 43rd AASH National Conference:

Hearts in Motion

Cor Unum! Speakers! Home Dinners! And plenty of time to renew old acquaintances and make new ones at “Hearts in Motion,” the 43rd AASH National Conference in Detroit. Make plans to join us April 22-25, 2021. We’ll be based in the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, but will spend a day each at Bloomfield Hills and Grosse Pointe schools.

The conference committee, led by Co-Chairs Andrea Briefs Ferris (Bloomfield Hills 1975), Patricia Kolojeski (Grosse Pointe 1962) and past AASH President Barb Lopiccolo (Bloomfield Hills 1962), has been working hard since last year to plan the best national gathering ever. Activities include a speakers’ panel, which will include young alum participants, focused on wholehearted leaders and the lived experiences of woman leaders.

The tentative schedule calls for an alum directors’ meeting Thursday, April 22, and the return of Home Dinners that evening. Transportation for the weekend is generously being underwritten by American House Senior Living Communities.

The official welcome starts with the Shelagh O'Dwyer Cocktail Party Friday night at Grosse Pointe Academy. We’ll hold regional meetings and an AASH business meeting too. All voting delegates should be checked in by Friday.

The Cor Unum Mass and awards ceremony will be Saturday evening at Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit, the second oldest continuing parish in the United States. We’ll head off to the Rattlesnake Club on the Detroit River for our Saturday night gala. Voting for the new board will be Sunday morning.

Nominations for the Cor Unum and Maryliz DeVito Lincoln Service & Generosity Awards is open at https://aash.org/posts/nominations-open-aash-board-major-awards. For more information on the awards, and nominations for the 2021-2023 AASH Board, see page XX.

Pre- and post-conference tours of Detroit and the surrounding area are being planned as well. Registration will open early next year. In the event of a COVID-related shutdown, the conference committee is planning virtual events. Watch www.aash.org for more info.
