Celebration and Reenactment of Philippine’s Arrival on St. Charles Riverfront
Join us for a Bicentennial reenactment of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne’s arrival on the St. Charles riverfront, celebrating 200 years of education!
When St. Philippine and her four companions opened the Academy of the Sacred Heart in September 1818, it signaled the start of Sacred Heart education in the New World, Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and formalized education of any kind in the St. Charles/St. Louis area. All Archdiocesan schools, City of St. Charles schools, and religious and home schools in the area are invited to send a delegation to this special anniversary event!
